How to Make Grapefruit Cleaning Wipes
Everyone loves the convenience of using pre-made cleaning wipes to clean kitchens, bathrooms, and windows. But those wipes can be very expensive, and they usually use chemical based cleaners that some people don't want to use in their homes. If you have pets or small kids or you just want to use more environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and you want to save money you can easily make your own grapefruit cleaning wipes to use. Grapefruit juice mixed with vinegar and water is the perfect cleaning solution because it will fight bacteria, kill viruses, and get rid of all kinds of harmful things. It will also balance out the vinegar and make the cleaning mixture smell fresh and citrusy. If you want to make your cleaning wipes with a super citrus smell mix some orange juice into the cleaning fluid as well.
The first thing you'll need to make your own grapefruit cleaning wipes is a storage container. There are any number of plastic bowl shaped containers you can buy in a wide range of prices. If you want to find one cheap look at the local resale shop or thrift store. The container need to be big enough to hold paper towels and cleaning solution. You'll need to drill a small hole in the top to pull the cleaning wipes through, unless you want to just open the container and take out a wipe when you need one.
The next thing you'll need is paper towels. Don't buy the cheap paper towels that are on sale for this project. Invest in the super thick and super absorbent towels. If you can find towels that are quilted or have a scrubbing service those are the best ones to use but any high quality paper towel will work. You will need to use a saw or electric knife to saw the roll in half, leaving you with two small rolls of towels.
Then you will need to mix up your cleaning solution. For a bright citrus smell mix tangerine juice or orange juice with fresh grapefruit juice. Then mix in vinegar and water. You will need about three cups of cleaning solution for one half size roll of paper towels. Put the half roll of paper towels into the container, and then pour the cleaning solution over it. The paper tube inside the roll of towels will get wet and gummy and you can just remove it. Then add the rest of the cleaning solution. Put the top on the container and let the towels sit in the container for 24 hours. After that you will have your own home made natural grapefruit cleaning wipes that you can use whenever you want to clean your home.
