Create Party Drinks with Red Grapefruit Juice
Party drinks are no problem even if you are looking to increase your consumption of red grapefruit juice. There are many different drinks that begin with grapefruit juice and not all of them require alcohol. One thing to remember is you can use red grapefruit juice in any recipe that requires grapefruit juice. The recipes do not usually specific the type of grapefruit juice to use, so you can make the drinks with your juice of preference. Here are a few suggestions for drinks you might want to serve at your next party, all of which need grapefruit juice–include red grapefruit juice in any of them.
Beach Blanket Bingo (non-alcoholic)
Combine the following:
3 ounces red grapefruit juice
3 ounces cranberry juice
Soda water
Pour all of the ingredients into an ice-filled Collins glass and top off with the soda. Garnish with a wedge of lime before serving.
The Blushing Lady
Combine the following:
1 ounce PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce red grapefruit juice
After rubbing a wedge of lemon around the rim and a martini glass, dip the glass into a plate of coarse sugar and set it to the side. Pour all of the other ingredients into a cocktail shaker to which ice has been added. Shake and strain the mixture before placing into the martini glass.
Grapefruit-Campari Sorbet
Ingredients:
1-3/4 pints of freshly squeezed red grapefruit juice, strained
14 ounces superfine sugar
7 ounces Campari
Juice of 2 lemons and 2 oranges
Use wire whisk to combine the red grapefruit juice with the sugar then add the Campari, lemon and orange juices. Use an ice cream maker or metal container to freeze the mixture.
You will find many other ways to make party drinks with red grapefruit juice including the ever popular slushee that requires nothing more than mixing the juice in a blender with ice (preferably the crushed variety). You can create your own red grapefruit juice drinks with or without alcohol in order to accommodate the needs and preferences of your party guests. There is no reason you have to use recipes that are already “tried and proven” when you can come up with your own ideas. Remember, even the recipes provided here were created by someone who took the time to try something new and different. Every cookbook and drink book you find on the shelf is filled with recipes that were originally someone’s “trial and error” creation.
