Delicious, refreshing, and simple to prepare, Mimosas are the quintessential brunch cocktail. Perfect with most any brunch menu, Mimosas are a quick and simple way to dress up any occasion, whether it’s a holiday morning, Sunday brunch, or an anniversary celebration.
Sweet and tangy Pittman & Davis Mandarins offer a fun twist on the classic cocktail. The below recipe is meant to serve two people, but you can easily multiply it for a crowd and serve it in a chilled pitcher. For an extra elegant twist, serve in frosted champagne flutes.
Note: Most Mimosa recipes call for an equal ratio of juice to sparkling wine, though you can adjust the amounts to your taste. Just remember that the juice is always poured in last.
Ingredients:
- 5 Pittman & Davis Honey Mandarins or Gold Nugget Mandarins
- 187ml bottle of sparkling wine
- 2 Tbsp. liqueur (such as Grand Marnier or Chambord), divided (optional)
Directions:
- Chill two glasses in the freezer (at least 30 minutes; for a frosted effect, chill for 60 minutes minimum).
- Juice 4 of the mandarins (should yield about 8 ounces of juice). Thoroughly chill juice in the refrigerator. Slice the remaining mandarin for garnish.
- If using liqueur, add one tablespoon to each glass. Top with a ½ cup of sparkling wine, then ½ cup of mandarin juice.
- Garnish with mandarin slices and serve.
