The martini is perhaps the most famous of cocktails. Combining this classic drink with delicious Pittman & Davis Bartlett Pears creates a flavorful new spin on an old favorite. The Bartlett Pear Martini is lightly sweet and with a little preparation ahead of time, very easy to make.
Bartlett Pear Martini Recipe
Preparation Times: 45 minutes for Bartlett Pear puree / 5 Minutes for drink
Bartlett Pear Puree
3 Pittman & Davis Bartlett Pears, peeled, halved, and cored
6 teaspoons Honey
1 teaspoon brown sugar
Preheat your oven to 350F. Arrange peeled, halved, and cored Pittman & Davis Bartlett Pears with the cored side up on a cookie sheet. Cover each Bartlett Pear half with 1 teaspoon of honey. Bake at 350F for thirty-five minutes, or until pears are soft. Remove pears from oven and cool at room temperature for at least ten minutes. Place cooked and cooled Pittman & Davis Bartlett Pears into a food processor, add the brown sugar, and blend until smooth. If necessary, add one tablespoon of water to make the puree smoother. Refrigerate the puree in an airtight container until you are ready to use it. The refrigerated pear puree will last for up to three days. For longer storage, it can be frozen.
Bartlett Pear Martini Ingredients
2 ounces Pear Vodka
2 Ounces Riesling Wine
1 Tablespoon Pittman & Davis Bartlett Pear Puree
Thinly sliced Bartlett Pear for garnish
Bartlett Pear Martini Preparation
Add vodka, Riesling, and Pittman & Davis Bartlett Pear Puree to a cocktail shaker, fill with ice, and shake well. Strain into a martini glass, and if desired, cut a notch into one or two of the pear slices, and use to garnish the rim of the glass.
